Election. Just one of the most ridiculous and mind-blowing things to ever happen to not only your personal jesus here, but also the entire world. I'm just blown away that something like 22% of the voters responded with "moral values" as being the most important point in deciding who to vote for.
Do they even know what morals are? They probably got them confused with the teeth that used to be in the back of their mouths before getting in a fight with billy joe bob and his brother joe billy.
Morals are one thing...morals are a completely personal decision on what you find moral and what you find immoral. Ethics, on the other hand, are more objective identifiers of a personality (of an individual, country, business etc.). The Bush party with all of its moral crusading, kneeling and overbearing paternalization of the government completely ignore ethics in everything they do.
I'm reminded of Eric from Billy Madison.
So, Rhiannon suggests that we remove the south from the electoral process. Amy suggests California itself secede from the union. Neither of these ideas have much merit...the import tax of Jim Beam will be staggering if the south feels disenfranchised, and if we secede that means that Arnie will be our president.
We'll be checking out Spain on our honeymoon to see if it's Good-friendly. We don't want to raise children in this country with the way things are going. Other options...Canada, Mexico, Wales, and my coworker doug recommended some islands off Panama. We'll see.
