a conversation with mikey
I left a comment on faith's blog about my fiance, Rhiannon, and how she would describe why the sky is blue.
Mikey sent me an email...
So I wrote this back to him...

you know, i am STILL laughing about blue smurfs orbiting the Earth. does
rhiannon really think like that? hahahahah
So I wrote this back to him...
She sure does. She came up with a theory the other day that still blows me away. You'll need some background though...she has a shirt with a snail riding on a turtle's back and the snail saying "WEEEEEEEEEE!."
One day she was talking about turtles and accidentally said snails. I said, "don't you mean turtles?" After that little...oops I've been caught...look, she says "No, I meant snails. Snails are baby turtles. When they grow up they get legs and a head. They've already got the shell."
Later on when talking about our progression of pets (we're going to get a turtle first, then a bunny, then a puppy, then a baby. She thinks there's an emu in there somewhere but I'm not gonna cave.) she came up with an entirely new evolutionary progression.
snail < turtle < bunny < puppy < human
If you notice, cats aren't in there at all. This is to avoid cannibalism.
Shit, I gotta blog about this. LOL!!! I need that shirt.

so wha, bunnies are turtles that don't have shells?
ok. i may have to photoshop an "evolutionary" chart for her. heh.
