the coolest pc accessory EVER.

From PC Case Gear

Yes, it works, and powers 12v accessories as well.

I need it.

The new hot rods

I'm doing some work on my home computer, an old p4 1.8 that I frankensteined together about 3 years ago. performance-wise it's not too bad, but it's LOUD. Already ordered a new power supply, and I'll be replacing the CPU heatsink and fan. Eventually I'll put Linspire on it, but now that Galvin's leaving town I better hurry!

So, looking around the internets I stumbled on some great sites for overclocking, or increasing your CPU's performance by changing it's clock speed, upping the voltage etc. Good way to make your machine faster but voids all warranties. I've done this before, and my dad's gotten really good at it, but I never realized the lengths that some people go to modify their machines.

One of the biggest issues with overclocking is maintaining temperature. When you pump more voltage into a chip, obviously it's going to heat up outside of it's original specs. Better heatsinks. Better fans. More fans. Liquid cooling. Pretty standard sounding right?

no friggin way.

there's an entire culture out there of modders who treat their computers like hotrods, not only beefing out the "engine" but also the "chassis" both for performance and for looks.

Take a look at some of these machines.

Another

And another

Maybe I'll sell the '66 Valiant that I haven't worked on and go into modding computers.
