Where have you gone, Mr. Z?

Oh, my poor, poor readers. So long without anything new from Mr. Z. Well lemme tellya, this last month we've been going through some changes on the homefront, and things are finally starting to mellow out. So to sum up:

We've moved!
We're now in City Heights, just east of the 805. Finally a neighborhood with a little life in it. Our next door neighbor is awesome. Mrs. Z finally has someone to talk politics with. And she has a great doggie, Casey.

I borrow tools from another neighbor.

Our neighbors have great names. Happy. Unique. Greg.

With the move has come some minor construction.
Ikea Sliding Curtains
Wall Mounted Pot Rack

Next up are the cabinets for our "office cubby." The doors just arrived today, I'll be working on getting those up tomorrow. It's going to involve completely dismantling my desk so I'm waiting on some computer parts that I'll have to install.

Started working!
I signed my first client last week. Everyone say hello to the best San Diego Wedding Photographer around, Jared Bauman. I'll be updating his site and performing some SEO magic.

I've upgraded my computer
Since I'm working from home, I decided to do some upgrades to my computer. I've been upgrading slowly over the last year or so, but I've just about finished over the last month. I built this system from the ground up, concentrating on the best quality for the price. I'm pretty proud of myself. I don't look at it so much as being a geek, more like a gearhead but instead of a car I work on my computer. Argue if you will.

This is the (almost) final result. If anyone needs to put together a machine I can help you out finding cheap parts. I buy everything new using rebates, coupons, sales, etc. Links are to company sites, or NewEgg if that's the easiest to find.

Video card and speakers arriving tomorrow.

Okay, I'm a geek. So sue me. Wait until I bust out the dremel to add another fan vent to the side and fabricate a removable front fan filter.

And it's all just in time - F.E.A.R. comes out next week. I preordered the DVD Director's Cut version hehe...I can't tell you how excited I am. Not convinced it's going to be one of the best FPS games ever? John Carpenter says "It's the scariest game I've played."

That's about it for now!
